Got out early this morning to beat the heat and hopefully save a few relics. Managed to bring home 3 dropped Gardners, 1 fired Gardner, 2 dropped .69 cal. round balls, a pistol bullet and ball and a brass star with a hole in the center. I believe it could be a rowel to a spur but it is a little thin in my opinion. Thanks for looking and HH!! :)

Those are some great finds. Were you hunting in relics mode or all metal? The brass star looks to small to be from a spur, unless it was a child's spur.

hey scott, great hunt! i do believe it's a rowel - even though it's thin. them ol' boys used whatever materials they could get their hands on. a buddy of mine years ago found a thin one carved outta lead! i got out this am too, before the heat hit. neat bullets, looks like yer onto a good spot. oh, and congrats on the buttons and bullets you picked up at the cw relic show - they are some good ones, especially the early artillery button. it's a beaut. did you see the prices on the cs stuff? phew! hh!
