Finds Friday with Silver Umax

Wow, great start.

I won a SilverUmax in a hunt several months ago and I am astounded at what a really good little machine it is for the price. Well, free in my case but it is a true value for what a buyer has to spend. The only thing I miss is something to indicate the depth of the target, but they aren't very accurate on most detectors anyway. And it is deep little sucker too! I think it might be my go to when the big horse is resting. Onus

Heeluver.
Nice finds!

Onus,
Little trick I use with Compadre to estimate depth ... after thumbing discriminator to get an idea of what the target may be, I'll start raising the coil up to see where I start to loose the signal. After you dig several targets, particularly the faint sounding ones, and see what they are and how deep you are digging with the coil close to the ground; raising the gradually coil then gives you another piece of information about depth.
