OK, Here is a pic of my finds for this week. I got the 1905 IH today, funny thing is I walked away from the signal and wasn't going to dig after about 5 steps I changed my mind and went back to it. This was my first full week withthe explorer XS and I must say I sure do like her(we'll call her sweetie).

First I made a custom program which included both kinds of indians and 3 different silver dimes and all other old coins I've been finding in this area. I saved that and hunt in advanced mode.
sens. -semi auto 32 I will try manual if I think an iffy signal can be cleaned up.
vol- 10
gain- 10
thresh- -5 and then lowered in the smartfind screen to just audible
variability- 8
limits- 10
sounds- ferrous
Normal
fast on- deep off- this is another one I play with during the learning period.

If anyone see's anything here that I could be doing different or to make it hotter please feel free to post your comments you will not hurt my feelings. I do run in iron mask sometimes but still trying to figure that out. seem to dig more holes less targets in iron mask.

Hay A66 I dont understand, You lowered the Smart Find screen to just audible?????????????
ill try Auto sens??? will auto sens keep the Threshdold smooth???????
I read you haft to keep a smooth threshold to let the Explorer go Deeper?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Micfin
 
All I can really tell you is I'm new at this thing and trying to work through all the different setting and options that this machine has to offer.yes on the threshold question I make sure it's smooth. I lowered the threshold on the smartfind screen. What does HAY A66 mean ?
 
Hay is Like Hi, And A66 is in your screen name but not so mutch typing, Well im learning to im a longe time Whites user , I just sent my New V3 down the road 4R a Explorer II , And it still feels weared , Mic
