Got out a bit this month And found some shinnies! :detecting:

First was this 1955 young Elizabeth silver dime. Got it just across the road from my aprts in a grassy, wooded lot that will soon be condo's. Figured I better make sure there was no silver before it was gone. Glad I did. Also got some 50's and 60's pennies and couple of wheat cents from the 50's.

Next up is this nice young Elizabeth 1960 dime on the hunt with MartyMoose; when he got his 50 center. Also got some wheats and pennies from the 40's to 60's.

Ok now we get to what I'm gonna call "200 acres". I got permission for some old farmland with 2 old barns and alot of pasture. I went last sunday and I've barely scratched the surface of the first part. Was only there for 3 hours, but I found a spot in the old orchard(gone now) where they used to picnic. Turned a few keepers too. :)

Brass hinge from an old footlocker.

Nice bronze padlock. Brand name is TERROR, Yale & Towne company. Newport, New York. Nice old padlock with tumbler style lock, unfortunately the soil hasn't been kind to it.

1912 George V Canadian Large Cent. And the soil wasn't kind to it either, I'm thinking fertilizer at some point. After cleaning with HP it looks worse. I gotta be more careful.

After cleaning.....sorry I did it now.

And the piste resistance! A 1910 Edward VII FISHIE! YAY! :clapping: Unfortunately it's the pointed leaf variety.

I'm heading back there tomorrow to find more goodies, the barns have TONS of iron around them and will take slow careful work with my 6" coil to find the goodies there. And there's acres and acres of pasture to cover with my 17" coil too. I can't wait!! Wish me luck!

GL & HH to everyone!
