Findmall Forums ..................................

Have you taken the time to read all the Findmall forums ??

It is simply amazing reading all the finds people post that use every type of detector made.

SOMEWHERE, someone, has found a fantastic find with their favorite machine.

If you haven't read them all.Your missing a lot of exciting finds...

Elton, I have been on the forums for many years and I agree with you on your opinion of Findmall Forums. This forum has people who can speed up the learning process. When I started, I was basically on my own. If there was not a local person with knowledge of the detector I was using, I was at a severe disadvantage. I have seen people who start with basic questions about detectors and detecting turn into seasoned detectorists in a short time. No question is too "dumb" and I have consistantly witnessed people use extreme patience while answering every question that has been asked many times before. Findmall is by far the best learning tool for everyone in the hobby.

Well, I'm on a learning curve having been at it less then a year but learning fast and hunting all my free time. I've found this place to be a veritable mine of good info and polite people, unlike some other places on the internet. I like the lack of brand bashing and honest and fair discourse. Welllll, for the most part :punch:

Elton, perhaps a permanent sticky on how to use the search functions here would expedite the learning process and relieve alot of the same questions being asked repeatedly. Helps free up contributors time to answer questions that haven't been asked or are of an individualized nature.

This is found at the top close to your name once your signed in.. A click on the highlighted in blue words further up takes you to that partricular title.........

My Original post was to ask if we all read all the forums............ and see what everyone is finding with their choice of detectors. Myself, and maybe others, get so locked in on what we use that when we sign on we only read OUR related interest forum.

I simply find it amazing what everyone across the whole forum board is finding using every brand detector made. Plus the wealth of information they take time to report.

I'm not sure what your 5%-95% means Dang. Are you saying that some of the best hunters on and off of the forums are consistently lucky 95% of the time? I think you might have your numbers backwards. Skill in knowing your detector, yourself and the ground you are hunting is 95% of the game. Sure we all get lucky once in a while but 95% of the time?

I agree Larry...... 5 percent?? I might as well just swing the cheapest detector i can with those odds. I mean they all find deep silver, tiny tiny pieces of gold, and require no learning curve.

Al Bell pointed out that the formula for success is 95% perspiration...

not perspiring much at the moment - it is dropping an inch an hour of snow out there...
The dirt under the snow is rock hard...
But I did spend most of the day rubbing Meguiars into the boat - taking it to Florida in 2 weeks..
wax on - wax off
where is that darn kid to do it for me?

Ain't it funny how everyone who wants to help you use the boat disappears when you start working on the boat???

Hope it's a good trip, what part you headed for?

I Enjoy reading most of it
Good post
