Hi John....this beach that we are hunting is a big resort beach town in South Jersey consisting of many streets and the beaches look pretty much the same up and down.....we hunt it pretty regularly but we also hunt some other beaches as well and I feature those other beaches as well in my videos....

Thanks Surf and Bruce. My beach technique and my finds have improved since I started watchgin your vids :beers:

Hey Bri! and Bruce! Great vid as usual. You guys are the dynamic duo of Metal detecting on You tube. I'd like to see a video where you go in hunting disc and carpet an area like you do and then go back and hit it in all metal and see what you pull up. I bet you'd find those some heavy items that sank just below your disc zone and you guys do such a solid job of canvasing your area that it would be an excellent comparison of the two modes. Mr. Bruce...how do you like your sov in comparison to your Excal??? Did you buy the GT?

It's great to see somebody step up and take over where Norm of thegoldenolde.com left off. Kudos to you for carrying this torch forward for all the beginner and intermediate beach hunters out there scratching their heads and wondering where all the loot keeps coming from that gets posted on these forums. Now they are pointed in the right direction if they just take the time to learn from what you are trying to show them.

Excellent Job,:super:

BDA:cool:

Thanks BDA.....I have found over the years that these forums have evolved into brag forums with alot of folks showing there great finds....and that is a great thing.....and the info shared on tools of the trade and machine setting tips and machine reviews and recommendations are on here pretty regularly.....the only thing that i never saw were guys posting tips on where and what to look for when out on the beach.....unfortunately alot of guys feel that by helping folks become better detectorists that they somehow are "showing their hands" and giving info away to the competition.....I am not so insecure to think that a busload will show up and plunder my beaches with the newly aquired information from my videos.....it hasn't happened yet....so i'm not going to lose any sleep over it....LOL....anyway...I'm grateful for all of the supportive posts from everyone encouraging me to keep the videos coming....Stay tuned....because there are plenty more on the way!!....HH....Surfdigger

Actually, I think you may be discouraging the busloads by showing how it really is with the cold, windy, wet conditions. It is work and you have to love it to do it! Great videos. Keep em coming! I really liked how you pointed out the dark sand as opposed to just dark because it is wet. Well noted!

Hey Dig
I got the GT about 4wks ago i finally got around to using it. I have the Excal down so i use it alot and i,m constantly changing the sens. and disc/all metal which is easy to get to on the Excal. The GT controls are a little harder to get to but i might chest mount it.........For the first time using it i like it, feels better then the Excal as far as balance. I need to put more time on the GT before i make a comparison but i got the GT as a backup and to have the option of changing coils...................

Yeah i'd like to see you with that thing and the sef 15x12 on your beaches. It looks like a real sweeper.
