Finding pipes

I have been asked by Preston Castle Foundation to help them find electrical wiring in the ground...How would my F75 do that? I know it is not like finding water pipes...the Castle was built in 1895. I am sure things have changed since then. Anyone have any words of wisdom..

would using all metal or pinpoint be a possibility? do the people who asked you to find them have an idea as to how deep they are? wish you luck on your endeavor. have a nice day.

know anything about the F75 but I have found lines several times for people with my 1266. I keep the disc very low and swing back & forth over what might be a line. If it continues a ways it is a line. Dont know what else to advise - good luck, Steve in so az

Also can't advise on the F75, but I have used my CZ-20 to locate some 2'+ deep lines, by holding down the pinpoint button, and sweeping. The subtle change in tone was repeatable as I moved along, and showed me where the lines were. Could that be done with the F75? (I don't know how it's PP works).

yes, in stat mode.

They now make underground wiring with just a non metal cover..In 1895 believe they used what was avalable that had the metal conduit which is rotted so would use all metal and try to find a signal that goes in a line..If you can short out the line the worms coming up will show you a direct path of the line is another idea without use of a metal detector..

Hi LowBoyl; Yes the F75 will find the lines up to 10 - 12". Use all mode.Watch the VDI#'s a line will usually give a semi to solid signal. If it is encased in iron it will give you low VDI #s. But it will definitely find them. You just trace the signals to follow the line itself. Good luck. PEACE:RONB
