finding deepies

Hi all,
I'm having trouble finding any coins beyond 4 inches deep. I hunt some old parks and schoolgrounds, i know theres deep coins to be found there as im finding 12 inch deep rusty nails all the time.
My question is 1. what difference do they make on the screen when u got one. 2. how do they differ froom how a rusty nail sounds 3. how do you decide if a signal could be a deep coin???
My setings are ferrous/manual 24/ fast and deep/ nomal audio/ max variabiltiy/ gain 6-7. Thanks, look forward to any help u might have. HH Joe

The easest way to explain is just toss a silver dime or quarter on the ground. Run your coil over it then lift slowly while moving the coil over the target until the sound begins to break up. When you can just get a repeatable signal thats what they will sound like. This is also a good way to play with your gain and sounds to get the machine set to your preference and also see how the meter reacts to them.

Tahnks tim, your advice makes enuff sense will give it a shot! hh

hi joe,
all your setting are fine. now you have to learn to go real slow. youll get those 8 and 9 inchers.
