Find that makes me wonder

Todai I made it out to a local park and hunted for 30-40 mins. I really was not expecting to find muh because when I got there I founf most of the area was under water. I started off and found a little bit and then proceeded to the bark covered tot lot. I found some pennies and then a suprise . A 1908 indian head penny that I think is at least fine condition or better. I have to wonder if some chiled took it out of his parentts drawer and lost it after showing his friends. None the less its in my collection now. Just wish it was an "s" coin.

Wow Jim! Gotta love those kind of surprises. Your theory is probably pretty close. A young one gets into dad's coin jar & bingo.....you get a great keeper. And you do have to wonder what else might be out there that may have come out of dad's coin collection. That park sounds like a good spot to go back to when the water recedes. That "s" coin might be nearby.

Congrats & I hope you find more keepers.

I think this happens a lot...that is some kid finds poor old Grandpas coin collection and wipes it out for old glory!...I seem to remember a few years ago somebody found a silver peace dollar in a totlot...

I find the vast majority of my foreign coins in totlots, so yeah, kids take or are given those coins and lose them...I bet we all know several stories of some kid getting into somebodies coin collection and spending those silver dimes and Q's down at the corner store for candy....Great find there Jim!:clapping:

Nice find! I think some school teachers have 'show and tell' for coins. Some of those little kids, 'take and lose'.
