Found this camp last night, it's loaded! I'll cut through the chase and get to the good stuff.

Now thats one "HOT" spot you've got......Great finds.
I'm new to this board and just got into hunting relics a couple of years ago, so I just have to ask!
What part of the country are you hunting in.
 
It will be interesting to see how this find unfolds. Chances are it does stand for First Dragoons, but seeing how unusual it is, it could represent First Reg't Company D or any number of possibles. Having seen MO Dragoon harness boss and Martingales before, it probably is associated with that outfit. Regardless, what a find! Keep us posted on your research.

I was able to hold in my hand a 2 D Martingale the other day! Same size and everything, Awesome feeling! It was found in TEXAS!
