Finally something yellow

Its been a while since something yellow was in my scoop.
I got out of work early and decide not to waste such a beautiful afternoon paying bills and doing chores. We got to the beach a few hours before low tide, nice crowd for a monday. The winds were still kicking up the surf so it was still pretty rough on the body so I decided to work the tide out. My excal was acting up today and for some reason, kept falseing every time a wave came over. I managed to dig up a thin 10k ring (3grams) with a small diamond chip in the center. Later a .925 and less than a buck in change from the sand and out by sunset.

GREAT. Its always nice to find something yellow in a scoop!! Especially the golden yellow kind. (AS brass is an alternative!!)

Nice rings! My excal falses every once in a while. It seems first to do it when I enter the water (I have my sens set to 6 or pointing toward the coil btw) and then it does it when the electronics housing gets wet with the first wave, and then whenever a wave big enough to push me a little hits and it either shakes or the coil turns to the side in the water it falses again. I thought maybe it was just me....I am still finding things however but I have gotten used to the fact that my detector has a little jabber jaw in it.

The more it will false on you, especially with waves sweeping over it or getting it bumped against irregularities in the bottom or rocks. You have to put up with the falsing but you hit deeper, something to adjust to.

Cheers,

BDA:cool:
