Finally something Silver

I have dug up around $45.00 in clad so far this year but anything Silver has been very elusive. Hunting tot lots, Playgrounds, parks and the beach. Hunting some areas that every time I get a high pitched target I expect a piece of silver to come out of the dirt. I have found Indian Heads, Wheat Lincolns but no Silver until this past Saturday. I went to an Old (no longer in use) National Guard Armory and worked the lawn. Found 50 Lincolns prior to 82 along with a 57 wheatie. Dug up $2.45 in clad including two 65 quarters and two 65 dimes. Had one of those targets that yells dig me I am silver and out came a U. S. Army Marksmanship Badge. Didn't think much about it but was a little puzzled as to why it sounded so good when I put the coil over it. Got home and turned it over and on the back it said "Sterling". Of course I also found my share of pull tabs, can slaw and other assorted and miscellaneous junk. Two junk rings, two bullets and an old key. I think I will have to pay at least one more visit to that old Armory. One would think that there has to be more silver there somewhere.

Some nice old history there ... congrats !!
