Hey all, managed to get out yesterday after a doctors appointment. Ventured over to a park in the town I grew up in. Oldest park in town. I've been there about 6 - 7 times over the years, never got silver there, but then again, I didn't have the ATPro during those years lol! I decided to hunt around the edges of the entrance to the park. Across the street back when I was a kid, there used to be an ice cream shop. The signals near the curb and edges of the park are so unbearable, you really have to slow your swing. Multiple targets every few inches away from each other.

I came across a textbook silver hit on the ATP, registering 6". Cut a plug, stuck the pro pointer in the hole and she screamed at me. Took out a clot of dirt and seen that unmistakeable silver edge. Now at this point I was happy to have finally found silver in this park. I also kept praying to the gods that it was a Merc instead of a Roosie. Dont get me wrong, I like Roosies, but thats all I've been finding with the ATP. Well like a kid on christmas day waiting to open his presents, I dove right into that clot of dirt. Alas, a Merc! First one with the ATP!

I said to myself before I dug the Merc that I would leave after I find one silver. Well, I kind of got a little greedy at that point and said the heck with it and decided to stick it out a little longer. I came across another 6" signal reading 80 - 81. I knew this could be another silver due to the depth (all oldies have been 4" or deeper) There seemed to be a lot of iron around the coin signal but I was able to isolate just the coin signal. Love the wiggle method! Dug a plug, stuck in the pro pointer and she sang again. Pulled out some loose dirt and seen a clad dime. Bah!!! Well so I thought it was a clad dime, I started wiping away the dirt to check the date like I always do and said "hey, thats not a clad dime, holy sh*t, another Merc!" This one is pretty oxidized and tarnished. Makes sense as this one was found at the bottom of a hill. Cool!

In a nutshell, ended up with 6 wheaties, a toasted Indian head penny, the CS pin with the eagle underneath it. Any one know what this is? Haven't been able to identify it. Also the 1943 and 1944 Mercury dimes. I will be going back there today after work. The clad was plentiful there and I've been digging all the pulltabs in hopes of getting a nice gold ring :) HH!

Your eyes are definitely better than mine. Thanks for the ID! Will make a great addition to the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts display I'm going to make :)

Nice hunt, Eric! Congrats on the Mercs, Indian head and cool Girl Scout pin! You dug a nice variety of oldies!!
