After three years detecting with my 705 i finnaly found my first silver coin. A 1907 barber dime and just a few feet away i found what i thought was a buffalo nickel until i got home and washed it off to find a date it turned out to be an 1891 v nickel. Also got two 1919 wheat's. Great hunt, found my two oldest coins in the same hunt that was only about two hours. Ive not cleaned them up yet I'm not shur if i should but they are very dirty and i dint know the best way to do it without damageing them. Anyone got some advice? My first silver and my first old nickel in one day. About two weeks ago i found a 1909 wheat.

Congrats!

I'm still looking for my first V nickel. I'm determined to find it this summer. Only have 1 Barber up to this point.

Have fun!!

Dont know why the pic showed up like that. I had to down size it to even get it to upload. If you click on open image it will show up.

Just saying but, I bet you'll remember forever the exact place you found that silver. I found my first silver almost 18 years ago and I can tell you exactly where.
