Just enough time for a one hour hunt took my time.My first target a zinc on a slope in the park area I thought would be a little more difficult to hunt and may have been over looked by previous hunters. The second target for the Sovereign a good signal in the middle of a lot of junk targets.I could not get a 180 degree repeat but the target read very high in one direction. After the flap was cut got a 180 good read both ways. After digging down a couple of inches the probe wouldn't read a target.A park worker on a Gator was pulling up to empty the thrash.I covered the hole while he was taking the garbage bag out of the trash can. After the park attendant left I reopened the flap and rechecked for the target.Another 3 inches and the probe started to give the Sovereign zing.In the hole I could see the silver edge and out line of the 1936 Walking Liberty half.I researched the hole with the probe but nothing.I started a circle sweep around where I found the silver half dollar and got another faint signal that required the Sovereign coil wiggle(used a BBS 10 inch coil)the numbers climbed to 179-180 after digging in the flap got a deep tone from the probe clearing more dirt gave the clean zing. With a hand full of dirt taken from the hole no more signal with the probe.Brush the probe through the dirt I could see the liberty standing quarter hello old friend its been a while.no date can be seen on the quarter only a D mint mark.
