Finally shook the curse.....

Steve in PR

It has been over a month since I scooped #6. I was starting to question my technique. Finally, today, from an area that was my last choice to dig, I came up with the ring (14Kt; 1.5 grams) and the silver necklace and star.

$3.86 in coin and a lot of relief......

Congrats on the curse shake Steve! Nice loot! I have not found gold since 01/30/2006, I'm ready! Did get 2 silvers yesterday with the Mark II. 1 ring and 1 hoop. Gulf Huntress is out of town and she takes my pics. Will postem' on sunday or monday.

I took it to an officual appraiser in San Juan. I appreciate that he is a certified Gemologist and is putting his reputation on the line every time he appraises, but I was too cheap to pay the $75 and up (depending on final value) that he wanted to charge me for an insurance appraisal. He would not do any other type of appraisal for me.

I looked around and I have see comparable units selling for $1800.

I know that is not the best way to appraise but I wasn't looking for an insurance appraisal. Just a ballpark.
