The detecting gods were smiling on me today. Last year I spotted 4 houses on property that were crumbled almost to the ground. After months of trying I was able to catch the landowner as he exited his property. The property is 144 miles round trip from my house and with gas prices the way they were I was only able to go out there and wait by the gate about once a month. Even though the gate was at times open I never ventured in because the landowners in this area are very,very, shall I say..nasty about trespassers. After talking to him for a few minutes he agreed to let me in after first saying no. Anyway, his family has been there since 1914 and the 4 houses in question were already there and starting to collapse when his dad got there. I can go in starting next weekend. We shall see. Finally a real test for my X-70. Anyway the rancher asked me if I had any kind of business card. I didn't. So... I know some of you folks have mentioned them before. Where can I get some printed at a reasonable price?
 
I just checked out Vista Print. They have a deal for 250 business cards free. I paid $5.00 for shipping. I always wanted some cards and these are cheap. Thanks for the tip! :thumbup:
 
Vista Print is an awesome site....you can design your own cards. Plus they are always giving away freebies.
 
Yes, I just quickly designed my business card and about 15 clicks later I was done.

You can make your own cards right off your computer. Get a packet of business card templates and if you have print shop or some other software you came make what ever you want. I make mine with my name, address, phone #, E-mail address and something like " I search for lost and buried items from the past ". I find that people like to know who you are and how they can get ahold of you if they want to. Also, I always get my permission in writting.
 
I was going to do that until I saw the 250 free cards at Vista. I was charged 5.50 for shipping and handling. They had about 30 templates to choose from. I figured I saved on paper and printer ink.

I was lazy so I purchased from Vista. Maybe it was just an impulse purchase. But for $5.50 for 250 cards I thought was pretty good. But I'll have to see my cards first to make sure. I hope there not printed on toilet paper! I'll post the card when I get it for critique when I get them.
