Finally ordered a 3030 today!

I have been going back and forth to wether to buy one or not...well this afternoon I ordered a 3030 standard bundle and Grey Ghost waterproof headphones. I have been running an AT-Pro and this week has been very good to me...found silver, gold, and platinum rings! So I decided it was time, if I can do that well with the AT...I can only imagine the possibilities with the 3030. My new heater will be here Monday...can't wait!!! It will be spending a LOT of time in freshwater, so I will have updates of how it is performing in that environment.

You are going to Love it Congrats.:twodetecting::minelab::thumbup:

I think you will find the CTX operates in fresh water like the water isn't even there. I'll be interested in hearing how you think the CTX compares to the AT Pro. I hunt with some friends who have AT Pro's and they seem to be killers on medium depth to shallow coins.

Yep, you'll be impressed. The CTX acts like it's doing a CT scan of the ground. A real bloodhound in trash. I dug a quarter about an hour ago in a gents yard around 5 inches deep. I told him there was eveything with it in the hole. I was using combined audio setting. Sure nuff got 22 lr shell cases out of the ground before reaching the quarter. You won't be dissappointed. Cheers

The AT is a killer on jewelry and coins on the beach and in the water (freshwater)...to about 6". I honestly dont know if the 3030 can outperform it in those cases...have not see any other machine that can. YET! I want more depth though...the lake sands quickly gobble up the jewelry. 2-4" more in the water I feel could net a noticible amount of more finds. I just hope its not the case the finds are just not there in the first place. I have been very successful given the area I have to work with. I am very passionate about the hobby. I decided to take a chance on a machine that in some of my hunting situations could perform better...then my current machine. For dry sand hunting I doubt I will use the 3030....the AT is lightning fast and hits shallower target rock solid with incredible accuracy when you know the machine. Water, parks, old homesites, etc...that is where I will put the 3030 to work.

IT'S HERE, IT'S HERE!!! WOO HOOO! I was told it would not get here until Monday, well he shipped it Express and it just came to the door. What a surprise!!!!!

I am totally clueless...never operated a Minelab product...but she is all put together. I charged the battery pack and the WM. I downloaded Xchange 2 software and run it. Notified me of an Update so I did that successfully. So now I about to hook up the waterproof Grey Ghost headphones to it and go hit the beach (will try out the WM another day, she wants to get in the water). This should be an adventure...be sore tomorrow from all the digging. I figure just try the Beach setting, and dig everything...that is the only way I am going to learn.

I do have a question, I'm sure I am missing a setting somewhere. My clock is 2 hours fast...where do I change the time zone?

Press the middle button (or press and hold) to bring up the top menu. Scroll to the right to OPTIONS. Then down to locality, I live in Missouri, so mine is set to UTC-5:00, Time format 12Hr, and Yards...........

To get the gold you'll need to dig just about everything on the 12 ferous line. You can probably eliminate a few TID's along that line specific to your location when a lot of pull tabs or caps or something else keeps coming up at the same number.
