well after hours and hours days and days months and months of thinking I'm going to buy an Mxt pro, but I'm not sure which coil to choose the stock 9.5 or 12" Waterproof Spider Coil:

Guys what do you think???

The 9.5 without a doubt. If you're going to get a second coil, I would get the 5.3. I do mostly cellar holes/woods and use the 5.3 95% on the time, but now find myself using it in yards also withgreat success.

Unless you have a deal with your dealer, the Pro comes with the 12" which is OK for hunting beaches and sports fields where the trash is not to bad. IMHO the 950 is a better general hunting coil at the expense of a little depth loss and the 5.3 really shines in the trashy places.

GREAT CHOICE. The 9.5 Coil is the best all around coil for the MXT Pro in my opinion. CCH.

[size=large]and just in case you didn't know, all the coils mentioned are waterproof..

Well....I really like the 12 inch coil. I hate it in trashy areas. The 5.3 does a great job in these areas. I have tried the 9.5 coil on my pro but prefer the 12 inch. One suggestion is order another lower rod, so you at least have that for the next coil you get.

The 950 is a lot easier to learn with and when set up properly you will not lose any depth that will matter. The difference in price can be used to get the 5.3 good luck in your searches.---Don
