Finally killed those batteries

First set of the year was good for 25.5 hours and I did finally get to hear my detector tell me "Battery Power Low." I think thats what she said. I like the cougar thing a lot but I have no idea what it is. It is not a button. I think its brass. Looks like there is a piece broken off from one side (on the right.) The shoe shaped thing might be part of an old ladies shoe or cleat. Nothing else special. The square thing was one of two half dollars of the day. The second was 3 quarters back to back to back. Same site as Easter. Where did all the goodies go? A few in my treasure box.

Hit a spot a short walk from where I was and saw about 10 unfilled holes with the cans and hunks of iron that some other hunter left on the sides. I asked a few neighbors if they saw him (or her) or his (or her) vehicle. None had. I cleaned up his mess.

My detector is a mess and needs a bath. Weather forecast and work schedule makes it look like next hunt will be Sunday.

The cougar looks good Chris. That's what makes the hobby interesting; you never know what is going to show up.

Rosco and I had a long conversation about why I don't use rechageables. I just don't trust them and would hate to out in the field without battery power. I could carry a set of backup non rechageables but then what do I do with them when I've already started using them? Wait to use them up to start using the rechargeables again?

I could extend my battery live by using headphones but I don't like using them either unless my beeping is disturbing others or their is a lot of ambient noise.
