Finally I hit silver

I've had my AT Pro one month and have found a few rings, lots of clad including a lot of 1965 quarters and dimes but no silver. My research had me leaning towards a particular area which last time I found a medallion from a saw made in 1877. But as of today I had not found any silver till tonite. I returned to this area tonight and pulled a 1903 Barber dime. Depth read 10 inches. I was running on Pro Zero with the sensitivity maxed. So glad to finally hit some silver. The dime as an X scratched on both sides but hey...it's my first silver! I'll take it.

[size=large]That's one Barber dime more than i have yet to find. Congrats. There will be more.

That is a very cool find! Congratulations! You will always remember right exactly where you found your first silver...even 20 years from now you could point out the spot...:clapping:

Very nice first silver. I've been at this 41 years now and I can still remember where my first Barber dime came from. Good luck, there is probably another one there. HH jim tn

That's a great way to get started- love those Barbers! Congrats, hope it's the first of many!

I think the former owner of this dimes wife runt offt with the local barber sometime around 1915 or so...so the guy X'd out both sides, cursed the barber, and tossed it.
