WOW i liked the koss headphones inside the peltors (and they are lound ) .. but this is a whole new ball game. the sound coming out of these things is beautiful twice as loud as my old headphones

now i know what CJC was talking about when he said to listen to the way signal start and ends i just could not hear it before

man worth every penny

I sent you a pm about them. I want to get a pair on my Excal II that the warranty just expired on...................

Ive been thinking about upgrading to goldmaster phones also...i can see how you can get better sound hunting in PP, just having trouble understanding how it improves sound in disc. Mode..as it is a stable threshold as aposed to PP? Cause when hunting in disc...if something is there , u will know it...and in PP ...you have to pay very close attention to the wispers...is that the main reason for headphone mod...for PP hunting?..
Not trying to be rude...but are the headphone mods mosltly done by older people who might have hearing lose...just wondering...im 31...and dont want to waste the money on headphones if it wont make a difference to me
Just a thought i had...and imput anyone?
Guess i just have to get a pair and see......lol

I've have the Mr.Goldmaster headphones on one of my:minelab: Excal ll for almost a year now and love them. I work in the surf a majority of the time:detecting: and they cancel out 99% of the wind and wave noise.
Them 60mm speakers (piezo I believe) put out a nice loud, clean, crisp sound which is sweet music to my ears. The only issue I could see is they might be to loud for some(not for me). Yes, I had to re-learn what the Excal was saying as I was getting a hell of a lot more info through the Mr.Goldmaster headphones:clapping:
The fit is so great and comfortable I can wear them for 6hrs at a time with no discomfort and unlike them yellow monsters :minelab: installed the Mr.Goldmaster don't fall off when I bend over to take a closer look in the scoop.:veryangry:
I am now looking to put a set on my SOV GT for my dry sand work.

Hey TC is 34!!
I would go with this first before dropping the 2 bills.......and do the 105's, a better ear muff http://www.findmall.com/read.php?21,1650170

Yes, they are mostly for the Surf hunter AND the PP hunters....... Over stock he does use the 50mm PUI piezo buzzers which will give you a different audio then stock, and the %eltor 101's which are the real kickers of the whole setup. All you can pick up for less then 40 Dollars...then if you want to inter change you can go with the Bulgin IP68 connector or the Ike lite.......changing out the end-caps can change the audio also since you are removing the resisior and capacitor filters. I will have a vid on the making of 60mm 105's next winter after some summer field test....

Thanks..i have done the P@#tor mod already and am happy with the difference from the stock yellow koss....think ill stick with these for now.....

if i knew that these headphones are this good i would give him the 2 bills a long time ago( ++ it looks like to much work for me i let the profetionals do it for me

I got my MGM headphones after the season here in Minnesota. I tried them out on a recent trip to Florida. They are awesome. I can't wait to use them here soon. Like CJC said they allow you to hear the subtle differences of the target that I could never differentiate with the stock headphones. I believe they are worth every penny I paid for them. I will more than make up for the cost with many more finds. They are not for old people with hearing problems. They are for serious hunters who want to be able to get more clarity in sounds and find more faint targets they are currently missing. I appreciate saving money, but I am much more confident & willing to have an expert handle them rather than chance it myself. MGM is a true professional & it was a pleasure doing business with him. I'm sure you will be pleased as well if you choose to avail yourself to his services. Good luck!

You guys talked me into them....lol.
I did the remote PP mod with no sodering experiance...so will i be able to install the $&%*# phones myself...?
