Finally! It warmed up to -14! Better then the -20's as has been the case for most of February this year. Made some jerky a couple of days ago. Nothing like a beer, a carrot and some good old home made beef jerky to fill up the gut!

Got a couple of dollars in clad and a bottle opener. Pick'ns are pretty slow. It's been too cold even for kids to go out and play on those snow hills. I was using the AT MAX today. I put in about 4 hours........ Going to sleep real good tonite! :goodnight:

John,
You got me hooked on Jerky. After seeing a few of your posts
I went out and bought a dehydrator from Cabelas. My first 2
batches were the Teriyaki and Peppered and it was AWESOME.
I even have the wife loving it as the peppered is her # 1 choice.
Should have gotten into this year's ago.All I can say is Thanks
a million. Not hard to do, just takes a little time. Wishing you
a Stellar year detecting in 2018!!!

Thanks........every man needs a hobby, to compliment metal detecting. Not only is is fun to make, healthy, nutritious, but costs a fifth of what you can buy. And, it's always fresh too! My wife, 21 year daughter and 30 yr. old twins devour the stuff like candy. When the kids were little rats, I could get them to clean up their room for a couple strips of jerky. No fighting, no punishment....just a good painless room cleanup.

Glad you wife enjoys it too. You can take turns trying different recipes. Too bad we cant ship the stuff over the Canada/US border, as it would be a real pleasure exchanging samples and recipes.
