Went to a local produce stand with my Ace 350 and the 4.5 sniper coil....I only searched about a 4 by 4 ft square section of gravel in front of the stand. My Ace was singing a tune....Had multiple hits in the same area.......I managed to pull out 15 dimes 1 nickel one quarter and about 15 pennies out....Thats the good news..The better news is that I still have about a 10 by 15 area and the rest of the lot to do :wiggle:..Yep......A lot of the pennies are REALLY damaged........The rest isn't great either ....I saw a 66 dime..........I still can't post a pic as I can't seem to get the camera to produce a small enough file for the site to accept. The other question I wanted to ask is how to clean these coins.....I soaked them in vinegar and dish soap and that really helped...I am sure theres more I can do....Anxious to find out whats in the rest of that area........

PS on my camera the size is best for email
Its found when you sharpen the photo before
you upload it if that makes sense

Don't soak pennies in vinegar....they will dissolve on you. just soak them in soapy water. Most people purchase a rock tumbler, and tumbled their coins. But.....do pennies with pennies, nickels with quarters, dimes with dimes.....

HMMMM local produce stand?? I wonder where that is. LOL Great finds Dave. All that coin digging should get you use to the detector.

Well I didn't hear about the tumbler.......Now that makes sense.......Think ya know what I did....Wasted 26.00 on a hydrosonic jewelry cleaner.....Not doing much...Will try to return it to Wal-mart..Worth a try.....LOL @ Joe it's right across the street from my house...Go figure....You'd clean it out quick......Theres a lot there..Providing me with a lot of fun..Actually got tired of the up and down thing.....But I will endure........
Thanks Dave

I hear a lot of people say this one works really good

Yeah everybody and their dog has an HF tumbler. Catch them on sale and you can get one for twenty bucks or less. The drive belts suck and wear out and break quick but one can use quarter-inch wide rubber bands ( cheap as dirt ) and they work great. That's all I use for drive belts and I've used a HF tumbler for years.

Good to irfanview.com and download their free irfanview software.
People have been using it for years. When you finished shooting your picture,
just put your sim card into the slot on your computrer (assuming you have a slot for that),
and then open the sim card on Irfanview.
You will have no problem downsizing the size of the pictures you want to post.

I use vinegar and salt on zinc pennies. It leaves them with a "frosted" look. I wouldn't use it on any collectable pennies. But I never have seen a penny dissolve. It might if you leave it in the salt and vinegar more than just an hour or so? Onus
