after being couped up for a month and no place to swing me and another buddy went to a reid state park in maine and tested on the salt water beach, well i have to say that the mannerisms was very good really stable and the area was very highly mineralized the discrimination works awesome, only dug a couple piecs of trash and beaver tail pulltab the rest was clad pennies the behavior of the machine is very much like that of the fisher 1270 but wih alot better disc, tried the dual tone and i'm not sure if i'm exactly quite sold on it, but then again i did'nt run to much this way but there were a few deep signals i had to let go just because depth was atleast 20" now the one thing you have to do when running on the sand especially wet is dont let the coil touch or it will beep at you and it is a very sensitive machine for sure but was able to run 3/4" to full sens most of the time then i went and searched around some picic table areas got a few more pennies there had one deep one close to 6 to 7" and hit that like it was on the surface so if your a relic hunter i think one would do very well with this machine now have got the 5" coil and just waiting for inland hunting to thaw had taken my video camera got the intro and after a few finds my camera batterys went dead so that ended that so not to show on film, maybe next time around

Did you find any of those annoying bottlecaps and if you did, how did the machine respond to them?

This machine is my secret weapon when searching saxon and roman sites here in north east uk:ukflag: . Its deep and great on small coinage the 11 inch coil gives you the depth and great ground coverage, infact my xp goldmaxx stays in the vehicle because its a skimmer when compared to the vista rg 1000. Found some nice saxon and medieval lately very impressed with this machine .I take my hat off to deeptech :clapping:.
Best regards Guss
A little vid about me and this fantastic hobby see this link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bw-kMsRfxWA

actually i did well what happened was my buddy was getting a mixed signal on his excalber and he had me comeover and try it and when i went over it i could tell it was'nt that great because it had that crackel plus a short clip at the end of the swing with it and i had thought it was in the foil nickel range at the moment but still was junk it was heinken beer cap

Vista rg 1000 will eat the corn field for breakfast and the cellar hole for dinner, i think the machine will work just fine in such places, good luck for the hunt and keep us informed.

oh believe me i think the minelab boys are in for a surprise! these guys run the pro se and exploerers and a whites v3i

You really gotta film that one up, because i like too see how the vista rg 1000 does against the Minelabs and White machines.

Some head to head real hunting situation target comparison tests are always welcome.:)
