Finally Got This Pinpointing Thing Figured Out

HI, all:

Been working with my new F-75 for about six weeks, now, and was having a lot of trouble pinpoining. I would detue it down to an area three inches across, but would many times be off by several inches, which caused a lot of extra digging and bigger holes. This may have been mentioned before, and I simply missed it, but I figured out after I get it detuned and narrowed down to a small area, I THEN need to slide the coil forwards and backwards to get the highest signal in THAT direction, as well. That's when you end up centered on the item. I've not used a DD coil all that much before. I'm sure many of you already use this technique.Since I started doing it that way, I've pretty much been dead on with my pinpointing. Hope this helps some of the others having trouble in this area.

keep on diggin'

That is the way it always has been for me loudest tone on the pinpointting. but al lot of the time you can just pass the coil over the target and make a mental not where it is from the repeated sound of the target. Now I us the uniprobe and a lot of the times it will give a slight tone over a target 4 inches of less and it is never wrong. Tools of the trade.

I Think the F75 is good at Pinpointing , i some times just do the cross ,and dont PP at all and find it spot on ,
plus i think there is a way you can make your P P better buy pulling the trigger and turning the knob
