Finally got the pics of my first Merc. I know you've all found these by the box full, but this is a biggie for me. So look already! ( 1942 if you can't see the date)

I still get excited. When a silver coin doesn't get your heart going, find a new hobby. Great dime!

I think that the Mercury is one of the prettier coins that the US has ever made, so it was a special thrill to see it pop out of the ground. Long time since I found silver and then two in two days....WOW!

Yeah even after 40 some years beeping it still gets my ticker fluttering when that old silver pops out of the ground.

I found a '42 mercury dime and about 10 years later noticed in the book that there were some miss-mints ('42 over '41) that year. I looked at mine closely under the magnifier and I have one. A coin collector offered me $250 - in the late '80s...
