I wish I could find them by the box full. Yes, there is Ebay but it's not the same as diggin' one out of the ground.

I think that the Mercury is one of the prettier coins that the US has ever made, so it was a special thrill to see it pop out of the ground. Long time since I found silver and then two in two days....WOW!

I found a '42 mercury dime and about 10 years later noticed in the book that there were some miss-mints ('42 over '41) that year. I looked at mine closely under the magnifier and I have one. A coin collector offered me $250 - in the late '80s...
