Found the 1887s at an old fairgrounds horse racing track. It's a bean field now and has been hunted to death. Used the X-70 with the 3khz coil and had a good solid signal at 10 inches. Used 3 tones and only had the highest segment notched out. Found the car, wheaties and 1948 dime at an old roadside motel that is being torn down close to my house. Still lots of stuff to be found there. Used the Whites Eagle II but I'm going back with the X-70 and the 6"DD. Should do pretty good. Most finds were 4-6 inches.

Congrats! I am convinced that the X-Terra is the best detector I've ever had, for finding old silver dimes. And the 3 kHz coil is unbeatable in those conditions. If you keep making finds like this with your X-70, you'll be giving that Eagle a much deserved rest! Good job on the finds and the research. We've got about 30 days of digging before those bean fields are once again planted and "out of commission" for several months. Keep hitting that one and you might even surprise yourself what you find there. HH Randy

I like the car. Looks old to me. Any production date printed on the backside? Have a nice day, Peter
