The ground finally thawed enough to dig & we tried a field for a few hours today. I just dumped the odds & ends on my scanner. Nothing special...some flat buttons (2 decorated). Sportsmans suspender clip with an Elk & other whats-its. Best find, & only coin was an 1876 CC Seated Dime. Not a bad way to start the spring season w. seated HH, Bill

Nice Seated! Thought it was a half dime at first. The button haul aint bad either. I find a lot of the white buttons also. Are they milk glass? I don't think they're shell. Anyhow , good hunting.

we see alot of them plowed up to the surface in the fields & sometimes I pick them up....HH, Bill

After running across so much of it over the years, I can ID most of it now....But little broken pieces of brass & lead stuff I guess we'll never know. We usted to find these little covers with holes in the top & never knew what they were until we were told they were whale oil caps. The round thing with notches in the side we see alot of but I have no idea what they are?
