Got a Saturday off for a change from helping my son build the playhouse for his two girls, so my buddy Lee and I headed out bright and early to another pounded lake park. It was a beautiful day and even getting to this place early we still had a little trouble finding a parking spot. It sure felt good to swing a coil again and I almost had to ask Lee how to turn my SE on as it has been over a month since I have gotten out detecting. It wasn't a total loss and we both found silver and proves that the most pounded places will still give up a coin or two and silver rings. My take for the day was almost $5 in clad, a 44 quarter, 35 merc, 1918 buff nickel, a 42 wheat and a no date wheat, silver ring, silver earring, a scout button and a service dog tag. Lee got a merc, eight wheaties, a silver earring, a ladies silver ring and then a big man's silver ring. What more can a guy wish for besides good weather, good company and silver to boot. On the way over Lee handed me a little plastic bag and I opened it up and it was a really nice 1876 Indian head penny that he found a couple of days earlier at a park in our area. I think he might just have won coin find of the month at our meeting next Wed. Thanks for looking fellows and GL & HH to all of you.
Oh, and a couple more pictures of the finished playhouse. Got the trim on Sunday and the roofing and grandpa's job is done.
