went back to my trashy field site that I have hunted at least 15 times, and once again I dug trash after trash. Got a 1928 wheat, then trash, trash, trash..............then BAM! got a screaming 07-48 on the etrac, looked down and saw a big black rim sticking halfway out of the ground. It was a 1906-D barber half dollar! It has several plow dings, but I am NOT complaining. Last years first silver was also a half dollar, whats the chances??

Awesome Terry! Way to start off the year man! Thanks for the great pictures.

Nice find there G4Ever. Pretty cool to find that big silver like that in a field.
Ive found SQLs in a field hunt by Dad's farm but never halves from a field.

Nice Find :jump:Have only found 2 Kennedy halfs in 6 years of hunting and found those two the same yard and same hunt.HH

Nice Half :thumbup:I'm do for one! It's been 28 years since I found my last One:detecting:

Atta way! I have never found a Barber half.

For once, Wisconsin has been able to detect before Ohio! But I know you have had a tough winter. Ice is still on the lakes here, but ground is thawed and I already have found wood ticks and mosquitoes.

A killer find - congrats !

That's crazy sticking out of the ground. Thank God for Farmers and Frost huh. I've only found one Half an 1896 Barber. It was in the backyard of an late 1800's home, deep in some black mucky soil. Turns out it was the septic field but ya know...... I didn't really care.

Nice find, Congrats!

Fantastic find G4E....got to love bean season...corn season...not so much...lol. Keep hitting those fields!

Very nice half Terry! Not a bad way to start your silver streak.
