Finally got out.:detecting:

Well, I finally got out yesterday for about five hours. One of my buddies and I got together and hunted some old WW II houses. First off I was reading some of the posts about some Minelabs and the falsing problems and possibly a problem with their X-1 probes. Last time I was out with my XS I also was noticing more falsing than usual and it seemed like my cursor was in the upper right hand corner of my screen no matter what the target might have been. I thought well this isn't right so I went to Radio Shack and picked up a spray can of electronics cleaner. I took apart all my connections and sprayed the heck out of them and cleaned them up real good. Went to the factory preset mode and then bumped up everything and did a air test on some silver coins. I was picking up dimes at 12 inches and I don't recall ever picking up dimes at that depth doing air tests before. Ok, now to back to our hunt. I was using my SE Pro coil which I like very much and my old XS was working great.:clapping: My first target was that nice sweet high pitched sound we all like to hear and I flipped over my plug and there she was a nice 19135 walking liberty half starring at me.:super: My other finds were two rosie dimes dated 1946 and 1951, two mercs dated 42 and 43 and nine wheaties dated 1917, 41, 42, 48, 52, 53, 57, 58 and a 19??. Not sure if cleaning my connections helped, but it surely didn't hurt and if I could find what I did in about five hours every time I went out that would be great. I really didn't dig much clad and there is a ton of that stuff around these old houses. I was just listening for that high pitch tone and for whatever reason that high tone just seemed to be more clearer yesterday then it ever has. I stopped by a old school on the way home and picked up that nice 14kt gold chain and cross.:clapping: This was my first serious hunt in about three months and I can't wait to get out again. I am out of shape though as my left butt cheek was sore as heck this morning from getting up and down digging my plugs. Thanks for looking and I hope our club hunt this Sat is just as productive if not better. HH.

Nice finds my friend. I gotta' get ready for work...so I need to run. otherwise I'd jabber for a while.

Terrific hunt there buddy! I was hoping that you would be able to get out soon and the finds you got looks like you haven't missed a beat Eddie. Congrats on some Super Finds! I really, really, really like that Gold Chain and Cross!!! The Half is great also. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you buddy on your hunt on Saturday.

P.S. Make sure to take some Butt Pads with to the hunt so you don't hurt your hiney!:poke::rofl::devil:

Eddie...Would you stay in the Pulsbo area so you don't clean out the rest of the West Side? Jim

WOW Eddie
Man those are some super finds bud!!!
I'm glad you are feeling well enough to get out sir!!!!
Good luck and keep it up

Thanks Derrell. It was really nice to get out once again and I hope to hit that place one time before my surgery next month. Best of luck to you on your next outing. HH.

Eddie

Thanks Erik. I am feeling much better now that my chemo is done with and my body is slowly working that chemo poison out of my system. Hope you get out again soon and post some nice finds. HH.

Eddie

Thanks James. It was a good hunt and I hope to get back there before my surgery next month. Looking forward to the hunt this Sat and I hope my "ole" XS can sniff out some silver at this place also. Last time we hunted this park we all did pretty good on the silver. I like that gold chain and cross also. My first gold cross and I knew that it would be just a matter of time before I got one. I don't think the butt pads will help. I'm just out of shape from not being able to get out and the getting up and down from digging settled in my left cheek. HH to you my friend.

Eddie

Thanks Bryce. What ever I did to my trusty "ole" XS I hope it continues and like they say, "if it ain't broke then don't fix it." Maybe our hunt this Sat will be a good hunt like it was last Tuesday. HH.

Eddie

Thanks Jim. I should have tried cleaning all my connections a long time ago. Then again, being at the right place at the right time helps also, but a clean well oiled machine seems to be the ticket. Let me know if it works for you. HH.
