Congrats gunnovice09

We all started with a metal detector cause they all detect metal! Be sure and post your first finds ...

Just got done hitting the local park was really happy to find some pull tabs because to me its fun to know that I just uncovered something hidden. The thing that discouraged me though was the static readings I would get every few feet and it would fluctuate on what it was telling me it was. Im heading to the beach now to give it a shot.

just hang in their and have fun.... i remember not so long ago when i got my first detector. a whites prizm.... fun times, and still havin them..

My brother bought a bounty hunter like yours and was combing a baseball field (I later found out it use to be private property from the early 1800's to about 1950)
Up from the ground (about 4" deep came this beauty)

Learn the language of the machine and you will be successful. Best of luck and keep us posted - Jim aka EPL

Thanks for the motivation cuz mine is at a zero right now

Your welcome. I want to add a couple more things: some of the best finds you make will come from places you least expect. It has happened to me many times. Also
carry a little towel with you (this is what I use) and when I make / cut a partial plug and bend back the grass, I dig out the dirt and place it on my towel. Once I find my item, I pick up the towel and pour the dirt back in the hole and flip the plug grass back over and step on it. Keep it nice and neat and always go with the thought that someone is watching over you while you are digging and replacing the dirt & grass. Best of luck! - Jim

A lot of people have made some great finds with that machine. It's all about learning the machine. The more time you spend with it the better you'll get. I've got a friend with an old cheaper Bounty Hunter who keeps up or beats anyone he hunts with. It's more about the person than the machine. They all detect metal, and the 202 has some nice features. Roger Federer could beat us all in tennis using a tennis shoe as a racket.
