Finally got my Excalibur back from repair

Finally got my Excalibur wet this year. I went to a lake in the swimming area, Just started to get my feet wet and here comes another guy with a Excalibur. He tells me that the place has been pounded by several other people from other areas ect. I hunted for a couple of hours found a couple of pennies. I will need to go out in the early mornings and try it out next weekend.

Don't you just love it when some moron tells you theres nothing to be found because he and his buds already found it all. And they'll tell you that even if they've never hunted that spot at all. Plus, why is he there with an Excal if he wasn't planning on hunting the site himself?

Congratulations on the return of your machine!!! I've been holding off sending my Excal in for the PP mod until things settle down at the repair center.

I was told by a guy that me and my son were wasting our time detecting a piece of property as he had dug every coin out of it. I did not have the heart to tell him that we had taken a considerable amount of clad and 14 silver coins out of that property and the park next door.

Killing competition, major pessimist or most likely just ignorant! And it would be a kindness to tell the guy about what he missed. He might slow down and learn how to hunt. No place gets totally cleaned out IMHO.

I don't understand why people feel they have to "run" to cover so much ground. I work slow & methodical & hunt the ground I cover as best I can. Then I move to next area. I dig a lot of deep stuff that u can't find "running" lol
