Was hunting at Dorothea Dix area which was a confederate and union camp site, and found this Williams Cleaner III. Wasn't sure what I had until I cleaned it and posted a picture.

was that with the Vaq, ? that is a really good find . not to many cleaner bullets compared to the normal . how deep and what kind of sound ?

Nice find... congradulations!!
I've only found one Williams cleaner bullet and the lower part is missing from mine.

Nice find Homebre! Wtg!

Nice job on the cleaner bullet. I have been following your posts on your hunts with friends and some of the frustrations you have been facing. Glad you were able to make an amazing find. I am still looking for my 1st. I hope you find some more soon. HH

From one Hombre to another, nice find:thumbup:

I found one last year in a vacant lot in a small town in north central Texas. Someone must have took it home with them.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. It was another hot frustrating day in which none of my friends were finding much. I was using the VAQ with the 8x9 coil. I had found a lot of iron junk and slaw plus 2 clad cents using the 5 3/4" and 10x12 SEF I couldn't hunt n AM because of all the junk, so I was using DISC below Nickel and above iron. To tell you the truth, I had no idea it was anything good when I found the bullet. The sound was not out of the ordinary, but it was small and about 4 to 6 inches deep.I first thought it was a relatively old 45 but it seemed to have some rings. I showed it to a few people and they thought it was CW period or older. When I got it home and washed it I thought it might be a small minieball, but then the bottom fell out and I had no idea what I had.
