Finally got my 2500 back..

after sending it in to be tuned up and have the new mineral chip installed. Looks like they slapped a new coil on also. Now if it will just stop raining so I can get out with it. They had a tornado across the river yesterday and tore up a few places but no injuries or deaths. Just a little one, not like the one that hit Vancouver in 1972 and killed six people. I watched that one from a short distance away.

Watching nature when it unleashes it's power is pretty amazing. I'm glad that nobody was hurt. Our family got caught in a micro burst few years back(a powerful storm generated when 2 storm cells collided). It generated wind speeds of around 150kph. we tried to drive home but it became too dangerous. So we just had to park and ride out the storm. The car kept getting pounded by fly debris. It was pretty amazing. The wife was a bit freaked though. Spoiled things a bit.
We have had a few tornadoes in our area in the last few years. The media keeps calling them mini tornadoes though They just can't accept the fact that Australia has the second highest number of tornadoes in the world, behind the US! There are water spouts off the beaches of Sydney most years, sometimes more than that.
Glad to hear you got your 2500 back. A new free coil! That's what I call service. I couldn't even trade my Explorer in on a new GTI, so I will sell it and buy a second hand one I think.

Yeah I was born and raised in the MIdwest where the big twisters are. I've seen all kinds of freaky things like straws driven through steel I-beams. I've got a pic somewhere of my buddy leaning against an eight foot diameter oak tree with a 14 foot two by four driven all the way through the trunk. I worked in a couple of tornado disaster areas and really seen the spooky stuff. WE had a town back home called Bunker Hill that was hit by a giant tornado back in the forties and it wiped the entire town out. There wasn't one house left, not one building left, not one tree left. It looked like an atom bomb had been dropped on it. I've seen tornados a half mile wide and that is one helluva lot of tornado. :) The one that hit here was a baby.

Aw heck Bill...quit being such an Oregonian.....as soon as the sun starts to show I will be in full rain gear swinging my Ace off in a lot I just found. Yeah it will be a muddy mess but with the winter we are going through what choice do we have????? What is this? 29 out of the last thirty days of rain??

I hope MY 2500 doesn't have to go anywhere anytime soon, unless I'm with it. We have plans.

What's a "mineral chip", anyway? I'm clueless about what's inside the guts of these beasties.
 
Bill you are gonna love it with the new chip, as you may recall I sent my GTI 2000 in this past November and had it upgraded to the GTI 2500.

Done paid it self off on the second hunt with it. Must say however I can not tell any diff., between the White 9.50 coil and the Black 9.50 coil other then the black one is flat and black of course:heh:

I also got a 3ft ext., cable as I hip mount my complete control; box.

I just got y 1500, well now abou:stars:t 4 month now!!doing well with it,what was wrong with,or you just wanted it tune up,
can my 1500 be tune up, will it be a better 1500, if so!!!
 
I had the new mineral chip installed and it looks like they threw a new coil on it. You can have any of them checked out and tuned up but if it's working okay there really isn't any need unless it needs to be recalibrated for some reason.

At least that. I've been contemplating building an ark any day. I used to hunt over in your neck of the woods. I heard the weather guy say something about seven days of dry weather coming up - but he probably is referring to Phoenix. :rofl:
