Hello,

I have read a lot of posts here where people clean up on silver and other nice coins. No such luck for me. Guess I just can't find the right place. Location, location. Where to hunt? I must have dug over a 1,000 plugs since my last silver coin. Am not complaining. Detecting is great. I love it.
Got my e-trac in May 2010. Since then I have found 11 silver coins. A few Mercury dimes, some Roosevelt dimes and a couple of Washington quarters.
Anyway thought I would post the pic of the Roosevelt dime I found today. If anyone read my other posts, this one was also found on the frisbee glof course #2 hole fairway.
Thanks for reading and HH.
Dan.

Dan, Keep swinging, it will come. Old silver will usually be deeper, so listen for those deep weaker sounds. I go by sound first, then depth. The last thing I look at are the numbers. Look for older parks and ball fields and don't forget old schools.

deeper than what? I hear people say that........but silver is not deeper than other coins from same years? For example a mercury dime from 40's will be no deeper than a wheat from the 40's

That's a beautiful dime--congratulations! You said it best--location, location. You've got the machine to find them so now it's simply a matter of finding the right location. Of course practice will help you hear the good amongst the bad, but it sounds like you're acquiring that. I've had my E-Trac for just a couple of months now and have found 6 silver coins (which is better than I did with my other detector), so I know where you are coming from. Like you, I just love the hobby and to me, the silver & gold is just a bonus! Thanks for posting and good luck on your next hunt.

Nice job on the silver, have u hunted any private yards?

I haven't hunted any private yards except my own. I know of several private yards that I would like to hunt. Some very old homes that were built in the 1800's.
I am a shy person and would find it hard to go and knock on someone's door to ask permission to hunt their yard. What would you say to a home owner that
would let them hunt their yard?
Thanks for any info.
Dan.
