I have been wanting one for the last couple of years and finally got one. Since I just started learning this machine I have been digging a lot of junk. I did find a couple of cool things though. The Dick Tracy badge I found Saturday, along with 2 quarters, a penny, 4 toy cars, and a toy motorcycle. I have not been able to find anything about it. I have found a lot of Dick Tracy badges on the internet but not this particular one.
The silver I found this afternoon in a local park. At least I think that piece of a ring is silver. It sure sounded like it. It is very light and looks like it was attached to something, but has no markings. When I dug the hole for the coins, I was first disappointed because I popped out two little magnets, that were stuck together. When I checked my hole, there was still more in there and out came the quarter. Checked the hole again and out comes the dime. This is the first silver I have found in 3 years (other than our annual club hunt).

Great Digs - like the badge... Congrats on the SE, I joined the club back in April and finding a lot of items... Picked up the X-1 probe and that was a good investment.

It's in very nice shape for being in the ground. I take it your up close to the Canadian Border since you found a Canadian Quarter. Where you located at? That piece of Ring you found was a Kids Toy Ring. It is made of Aluminum and the Ring part sat in between the 4 clasp's. Good to hear you finally found some Silver after 3 years. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't get any Silver in 2 weeks! Keep the finds comin'! Good Luck and HH.

nice finds! here's some info on the badge:

Glad to hear you picked up some silver with the SE you picked up last Friday from me plus that Dick Tracy badge will probably take 1st place in relic category. I am glad to hear it working good for you. Did you hunt with Joe and if you did how did he do.

Rick

That's fantastic Ndstomper...

Good luck to you with your new SE, and I wish you a great new hunting season...:detecting:

No Joe and I never hunted together. We are going to go to SD this weekend to do some hunting. I got out with Ron on Saturday. He found some silver rosies and nickels in the same hole. I had walked within a foot of them and turned the other way. LOL goes to show that luck plays a big part in our hobby!
