Finally got an E-Trac!

I finally broke down and bought an E-Trac. I got it this afternoon and took it out to an old homestead... In short, the E-Trac is a veritable coin magnet! This machine speaks to me and I feel oneness with it... It has found coins where my other detectors have not. Way to go Minelab! Recovery Fast and Trash Density High really was killer tonight. While I only found clad and modern stuff, apart from one wheatie, I found these in an iron rich area I have been pounding for 4-5 years! This is with the threshold balnked on account of all the junk in the ground. The best part is I dug the least amount of trash I have ever done!

I'm really tempted to buy Andy Sabisch's book to really get to know this machine. With a small coil, this thing should be a killer!

Any recommendations for a home run coil in trashy areas?

Cheers,
John

All of the 6" or smaller coils seem to perform as needed. My personal favorites are the 6" Treasure seeker from Coiltek and the Excellerator 4.5 x7.

The 4.5" x 7" Excellerator coil is hands down - the best coil out there for getting into tight spots - but it won't hit quite as deep as the 6" EQ 2 coil.
Both of these are great coils - I hunt a lot of junkie areas and have used both of these coils for well over 1000 hours.

Also, after reading hundreds of posts on different coils - I've never heard anything but best about the 5.5" SunRay coil.
I have a SunRay - Stealth X-8 and I love it - seems like everything SunRay produces is top shelf.

And yes ... Andy's book is a must have for any E-Trac owner !

Good Hunting !

like Etrac Ohio, I'm also a big fan of the 6" eq2. without a doubt my favorite coil in the trash..........

NebTrac

I just got the e trac,Been useing the at pro for about 5 years.havnt found anything{ yet}, That i couldnt have with the at pro.I do like it, though.I think the pro has it in trashy areas. But im learning to use TTF.A real help in trashy area.I buried a merc dime 8in...at pro couldnt get it ,at all.Thats with the nell hunter coil.E trac got it.without much trouble.I dont think the pro is as good on silver.I had the ace 250 with 10x14 excelerator coil.before the at pro.found lots off silver with it.I have not found any silver since buying the at pro.I know the pro will see it.But why have i not found any silver with the pro?I think its good on silver up to around 6 in.,no more.I think the E trac will be a much better silver machine.Thats my reason for buying the e trac.I love, all the different settings and programablilty of the e trac.
