Well I finally got a Minelab. It's an Explorer 2 and it came with the original coil and 2 more coils a Platypus all terrain with extra lower shaft, and an Excelerator E (about a 5 inch coil). Everything is like brand new. I will be gleening this forum for pointers from the experts. Just a quick question for now, Does anyone have experience with these extra coils and are they any good?
I used to detect a while back in the mid 90's and I am just getting back into it.

THank you in advance for any help and encouragement.

congrats on the new detector... I hope you get a lot of good finds

Well took it out in the yard for about 10 minutes and found a clad dime and a 45 wheaty. Getting familiar with pinpointing with it already. Found 3 good signals pinpointed them and found something right where it was suppose to be.

Let me know when u want to go hunting. And i will see if the lady will let me.:beers: I have found a silver camel pendant at your town fair grounds before. But haven't had any luck there for any other silver. But i know Indian cent's have been found there. That place was hit pretty hard. But u never know though. You just have to put in the hours others are not willing to.:minelab:

Put it in quickstart and raise you sens. into the 20's for a week or to ......once you get your feet on the ground time to tweak and any questions fire away as forum is loaded with info and guys willing to share..No secret setups only ones that work for you and your area and forget about patterns and screens as if you wish in time you can experiment with them. Secret of an Explorer go slow and learn the flute tones...

The explorer 2 is the best they ever made along with the se , . . explorer 2's in extremely nice condition will fetch more than you paid in years to come , if looked after .

A good investment...
