Welcome aboard, you've got an excellent coin shooter. I own the Pioneer 202 which is the QDII Walmart version. I can't say a bad word againt the QDII or any of BHs machines. Once you settle on the model you like and learn what it is saying you will soon be posting some great finds. Enjoy the Hunt!

Welcome TauRaven, :detecting:glad to have you on board the forum, take the time to learn the machine and go hard! HH regards Nugget.

TauRaven-
I also have a QD II. It's a great machine. I do mostly beach hunting so far, and the only problem I see with QD II is on the wet sand. It gets erratic, and you have to play with the sensitivity. On dry sand its great. I'm still learning the tricks on the wetter stuff.

Happy Hunting!

Welcome TauRaven:

The QDII is a great little machine and a killer on coins...Dimes and Quarters just make the unit sing sweet tunes...Nice crisp clean ping...
Welcome to the group and the passion my friend...

Happy Hunting,

BH-LandStar

Welcome to the forum, As I'm still new at mding I've learned tons from reading the forum and going out and digging every tone to see what it is. I've logged in about 50 hours so for and I can now start to determind a lot of the junk, the qd2 really has a sweet tone on the 10, 25 cent peices, when I hit one of these it sings the same tune over and over. As I learned here from the old timers(been mding for years)if qd2 is jumping around the scale a lot its probally junk, but who knows. There is NO stupid ? Someone will respone if you have a ? this is whats so neat about this forum. Its addicting not knowing what you'll find next. HINT I found that kiddie parks was a good place to start(still like them)as you will aways find coins around the swings, merry go rounds etc. This keeps you interested while your learning, just don't get in the way of the kiddies, after all it is there for them. Have fun .
