Finally found what I was looking for.....

Well, after trying so many detectors it would make your head spin! I finally found my second keeper! (I won't mention the other brand because it isn't a whites) however my MXT probably is going to be my go to detector. I am really impressed with everything about this machine. From the build to especially the way it swings. After only about 4 hours on this machine I dug 8 wheat's, 1 sterling silver broach and a Hartford Insurance Junior Fire Marshall ring. What really impresses me is that I have a spot where I take any detector I get and see what I can pull out that my other detectors missed. The MXT pulled those items out of the exact spot I take my new machines to to see how well they do. Quite impressive! No Silver yet but it will come. Just thought I would post this as a new and very happy MXT owner!

Very BIG congratulations on your new MXT. I hope you find many "keepers" with it. Enjoy!

Hi: My name is Dan.. I just bought a used (like new) Whites MXT detector on the internet (won't mention the site..) for $500 plus shipping. I'll receive it this Wednesday. Is this MXT easy to ground balance? Is it easy to use?? Does it go deep? Dan

Dan, yes its easy to ground balance and is relatively easy to use if you don't get overwhelmed with the options. Best thing to do is take the machine and use the default settings that the manual gives you and start searching your backyard. Then pay attention to what you're finding and reread the manual. Key is not to get frustrated right off and figure the machine is lying to you. Its not lying, you just have to learn its language and how to intrepret what its telling you. I just started using the MXT and I love it. Its a machine you can grow into and not a PhD just to get started. Just my Humble Opinion.
