Finally found "something"

Well I finally found something. Nothing great but something at least, other than cans and such. Looks like something off of a wagon or horse to me. Found in woods on an OLD road. Can somebody say for sure what it is? one end of the crossbar is broken on the end. Looks like both ends used to be around the ring. Oh, and a couple more nails lol. Thanks

I can't tell for sure but it looks like a bit from a bridle. I believe that bridles used with harnesses had and still use that type of bit.

Cool old find.

That is half of a bit from a horse bridle or harness. The are used in both saddle horses and horses that pull wagons.
