Finally found my first Silver Coin with my Ace 250

16penny

New member
Silver was the last thing I thought I would find this morning. I went to the little league park again this morning to collect the usual clad coins. I hit this area about 4 times now in the last two months. Pulled alot of clad out of this area. I found about 5.00 worth today.

I was about done with my hunt and was swinging back toward the car. I was getting a few hits so I dug those targets on my way out. I got this dime signal showed 2" down. So like all morning long a get down and pluck the coin out. When I first seen it I thought man this coin is bright. I picked it up and to my amazement it was a 1944 Merc Dime. Less the an inch in the ground!!! Like always I hit the spot again with the Ace and had another dime signal. I thought no way couldn't be more then one. My heart was beating a mile a minute. :hot: I get down and pluck this coin out which was about 2" deep. It was a 2006 rosey.

So there was just the one silver coin there but man was I happy. My first silver coin ever. What gets me is like I said before I hit this area several times and all of a sudden I find this and not very deep. The 2006 dime was deeper then it. My thinking is someone got into dads coin collection. If that was the case they didn't even get to spend it but lost it. Who knows

Well I thought I would share that with you. I know Its not a real big deal but it is my first silver. Now I need my first gold ring...............

i found my first silver dime last night with my 250 as well. It was at least 5 inches deep and a horrible iffy signal. Turned out to be a 1946 Roosevelt. I've pulled 2 v nickels, 2 IH pennies, and about 30 wheats out of the same yard. One thing I've noticed with the 250 is that older nickels will hit nickel then bounce down towards foil then back to nickel. Trash usually hits nickel then bounces up towards pulltab.

First silver is always a big deal! I'm sure it is the first of many to come.
Happy Hunting!
Darren

Nice.
My first silver was a Mercury dime, a 1936.
It was also my very fist coin EVER, with a detector. It was in the same hole as a rusty nail, which is why it was probably still where I found it.

It's great to get that rush of excitement-keeps you coming back for more. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

Good job.................Waiting on my first with my 350..........Had some luck this week on wheats so silver is there....Darned if I could pluck any however.......

There will be a lot more of those in your future, keep the coil to the soil..............:detecting::)

COOL! First of many for you, I hope.
