UGH! what a job, heavy old beast, i used two hydraulic floor jacks to put pieces of one inch plywood under then slid it carefully a couple inches at a time across the room and onto the ceramic tiles.
The plywood kept the small legs from digging in.
I painted it today also and was too impatient to let it dry long enough......now the fan is on full blast, its cold in here and the house stinks of enamel wife laughing at me....and kinda cold, maybe a bit miffed too
I have no clue why the spots on the pics.
Next job is to put the Oak trim around the edges, i'm already disliking the idea, me and mitering have some issues!

tile and the stove look great! You did a good job. Scott and I have been working on our addition I sent photos of a long time ago.

Looking through the window in your picture, it appears to be snow outside.
How much heat will that stove put out? Looks great, you put lots of work into that project! Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas)

and the snow will stay there longer, there is no snow anywhere else in the yard. That window looks south.
It does not look like it in the picture but that stove is 34 inches long and 24 wide. Made of 1/4 inch steel plate. Puts out a ton of heat and takes care of the whole house. It is all we use for heat, never use the oil furnace, trying to starve the OPEC bunch!
All that ceramic tile acts like a big "heat sink" and makes heating more efficent.

I just dive in and make mistakes until it is finished. I pay the pros for the tough jobs and do what I can

Next week, I have to start our tiling job. I have gutted, then remade the wet room area. [where the washer/dryer is]
Put a new bathroom, laundry area, freezer space. Now i am going ti tile that area and eventually extend the tiling into the kitchen
All the best

the mud room, our office and the boys closets and bathroom walls up. Scott has been working on light fixtures this a.m. We did the boys walls in rough cedar, to kind of follow thru with our "Cartright Room" theme. Only their room will be "the Bunkhouse". It's coming together really well. But Scott is a little nervous about our office. We bought Oak for the walls, and we will stain it, and trim it. One side of the door will be rough, to match that part, and then on the inside of the office, it will be oak. Scott's really good at most things, and so far things are going pretty good. The reason he is a bit nervous is because the oak was so expensive, and you don't want to put a nail in it unless you are 100% sure.

6 dollars a linear foot for 1x6! We do not have true hardwood Oak here. The ones we have are just decorative, scarce, and protected. Called "Gary Oaks" they grow huge and gnarled, but very slowely.
Have a good day kiddo
