Finally figuring out the SE

PJ

It's been to cold to detect up here in WI so I read almost all the posts on this site about the SE from you experts and also read Andy Sabisch's book. Well the SE light has finally found me. I went down to KY with the wife this past weekend while she was being a soldier, I went out detecting. The snow, ice and frost didn't help but I had a good weekend. I found a 64 quarter, 1917 merc and 6 wheaties. More importantly, the merc and a 1919 wheatie were 7-8 inches. After reading Andy's book and listening to you experts, I finally put some of your suggestions to use and feel twice as competent with the se. Thanks to all you guys who offer tips and opinions on this site. I for one really appreciate your expertise. Thanks again. PJ

Yep the SE ,is really a nice machine....If you have not gotten the pro coil get it.....Then it is a gggggreat machine!....I think the pro coil is the only coil you need...you can hear targets right next to each other!!!.......Yes and when the machine hits you....(you catch on)....man watch out!!!!...OK TAKE IT EASY!!!

Jesse. I'm one of the guys who can not use the vcr to record. I will have my wife give me a hand. PJ

Does your SE yell ...yah who....when you find a nickel...I swear mine does!!!!..I found a 1903 v nickel the other day....It yelled YAH WHO....so I dug!!!!

Hey Mascard. I do not dig nickels. If my machine yelled ya hoo on every nickel I would dig them though. PJ

Perhaps you have exerienced Explorer users in your club or area and one or two trips with them in an area with silver coins is recommended. With the first XS I used prestart to get my feet on the ground and in itself is a competent mode, however hooked up with a local Guru and the Explorer became a breeze to setup and interpet. Yep Andy offers some good insight and lots of sites on the web to help but looks like your past that stage and will soon be a competent user yourself...Welcome to the world of the Explorer and good luck in your ventures..

Dan-Pa. Last year I was a little frustrated but really looking forward to this season. PJ

Yeh , just listen for that YAH HOO!!!...I know the silver sound , but there is no words for it...Once you understand the EXPLORER language...in your head it goes HI HO SILVER DIG AWAY!!!

I have learned a lot from the hunters here too PJ.
It really helped me to contact a couple through pm's and meet and hunt with them.
