had a little time to do a little detecting today. Went to a park in the area. Found a spot that looked like where the playground equipment used to be, so i decided to start there. found a penny then found this 14kt, men's gold nugget ring. then found about 79 cents more in clad. this is my first gold find. how can i polish it up? it is pretty oxidized. i honestly believe that i wouldn't have recovered it if i hadn't had my propointer to help locate it. it was at about 6-7 inches. i probably would have given up without it. i also found this other ring. i can't find any markings on it. it could be copper or a rose gold ring. i will try to find out and post the findings. :smoke:

Congrats on the rings. 7 inches down is a good find. I agree the pp makes all the difference. :detecting:

Way to go! I still remember finding my first gold ring It had a hugh 5-6 carat green emerald in a very antique setting and like an idot I sold it at a pawn shop for 100. I totaly regret that...but have found many nice rings since then. hope you do to. Jewlery ruge works good for the shine...also a big brand store with a jerwlers shop will shine mine for free sometimes....Congrats!

Should have peddled it on Ebay. Pawn shops rip you to pieces. It could have been worth ten times that much or more.

Like that big ring. Congrats...
