After 2 years using my etrac I have gotten my oldest coin and she is beautiful! I was helping a friend learn the sounds on his detector and after showing him a couple of my "go to" areas we tried a new spot. When I got my detector out and started easing down the side of the sidewalk I got a dime sound and ask Dwain to listen to a dime sound on his detector. He said he could hear it strong on his machine so I dug around it and he used my pin pointer and found in in the soil I had rolled out. He looked up and said it is silver I was thinking Mercury but he said" man this says1834" I haven't stopped grinning since..

I'd "bust" out in a grin as well. That is a superb find Tony! Thanks for the great pictures.

I GASPED

MAJOR CONGRATS

I have been detecting almost three years with the ET and it is my Dream to find a Bust Dime!

I want one of these really bad. Congrats on a very nice find. These kinds of posts get me motivated. I will not quit this hobby until I find a few coins on my bucket list. This is sure one of them.

Beautiful find - congrats !

Wow! What a nice coin. I would love to find one of those! The sidewalks in my area aren't that old.

That was your reward for helping a fellow detectorist learn the hobby while sharing one of your "go to" spots!

Congratulations on a great hunt!

Thanks for all the nice comments! I was totally shocked to see a coin that old, I have found a couple of Barbers but not even a Seated coin. To see the Capped Bust was awsome. We found several modern coins 5, 6 and 7 inches deep but this dime was only about 3 inches deep.
