Finally broke into the 40's ... :minelab:

It's been too hot, humid and buggy to do much detecting at all. So after two weeks and maybe three hunts I finally decided to get out early today and beat the heat. Well the bugs found me almost immediately, but I stuck it out to pull one more silver from this spot which I have pounded hard this year. The big "40" .. was wondering if I would ever see it. ... enjoy !

McDave,

What is the crispy thingy in the center?

Chris.

I'm down in Wisconsin again and way too dry to even think about detecting.

WAY TO GO DAVE::clapping: GROUND SURE LOOKED HARD TO DIG. WE HAVE NOT BEEN OUY ALL SUMMER DUE TO HEAT

Thanks. It is hard to dig just about everywhere. But this spot seems to maintain moisture long after others have given up.

Chris, that would be a Morgan Dollar that was in a very hot fire. Was'nt even sure what it was until I got home and washed it off. The obverse side with Lady Liberty and the date is completely obliterated, while on the reverse side you can make out some details of the eagle and there is an "O"mintmark ..

Oh and I should mention that the Morgan Dollar is the only coin in this photo that I DID'NT find with my Explorer, but with an equally great detector. The other 39 are Minelab owned ..

WTG Dave nice group. :clapping: Especially being it is so darn dry which gives us zero halo.
That is a decent looking Seated Quarter I really like that one.
What is that to the Left (quarter size) of the burnt Morgan???

Mike, that is an 1868 1 Lira Vatican/Papal coin .. 80% silver I believe. I found it on a trip to Wisconsin in early June. Found the 1861 Seated Quarter at the same site.

Nice "shiner" Dave.

I spent the entire day today on the Harley because it's been too dry to hunt...and wouldn't you know I got caught in a downpour THREE times on the way home.:bouncy:

I have never seen one before that is uber cool. I would like to dig one of those.
Thanks for the Video I could see it allot better.
Loved the comment when your found the dime "got this dime next to this big @ss root next to this bid @ss tree"

Great job, Dave -- way to go reaching "40!!"

Would you be offended if I tell you that is the ugliest Morgan I've ever seen?! :)

If you are, then feel free to reply to me as follows "hey, ya moron, at least I have dug one -- which is more than YOU can say..." :)

Steve
