Finally bought another Tesoro

I picked up a Vaquero from the classifieds tonight. I'm excited to see how she does compared to the Cibola I had last year. Of all the detectors I've had, the Cibola was the one I wished I'd have kept. I hope the Vaquero will be even better as it is basically a Cibola with manual ground balance, right? I just bought the darn thing and I'm already to camp out for the UPS guy....

Although I haven't used a Cibola, I do own a Vaquero, and I find it to be a nice, stable, deep machine. It has done really well for me in both the coins and jewelry dept. I think it's one of the best machines that Tesoro has ever made...at least out of the 8 different Tesoro models I've owned. I think you will be happy with your purchase.

I have owned both and the Vaquero is one of the best detectors I have ever owned. The Cibola was alright but doesn't come close to the Vaquero's all around performance in my opinion. You are gonna love that new Vaquero !! Good luck !

for the money and performance that you get is just unbeatable and will handle some mineralized ground better than the tejon, thats just from my experience anyways and almost as deep!

I'll be excited to see how this unit works. My home was built in 1860 and although I've hit it pretty hard with my MXT, I expect to find more goodies with the Vaquero. I just purchased this last night and I already have a tracking #. Very nice. Kevin...aka muttandjeeps is on the ball.

Congradulations on your purchase!!
I saw this detector for sale on the classifieds and couldn't figure out why no one had
grabbed ti as it looked like a very good deal to me.
You'll love the small coil that is included in the deal... very light combination.
I also have a Vaquero and it great at old homesites and iron riddled sites.
I will be surprised if you are not impressed with this detector and with the manual ground balance, you will be able to
get maximum performance with it at any location you try.. just takes a few seconds to properly ground balance and well worth the time.
Also remember to recheck the ground balance from time to time while searching in case the ground changes on you.
Good luck and happy hunting!!

Yep! you're going to love the Vaquero. :)

Thanks guys....the frequency of ground balancing was going to be one of my questions with this unit, but that has been answered for me already! I'll be looking for the cleansweep in the near future... I had one with the Cibola and loved it for dry sand hunting.
